A man has died following an incident in Walsall today.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a road traffic collision on Wednesbury Road shortly before 4.45am this morning.
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic area support officer, the Hazardous Area Response Team and the Trust’s MERIT rapid response vehicle, carrying a critical care paramedic and a trauma doctor were dispatched to the scene. The police and fire service were also in attendance.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a single vehicle that had left the carriageway and had come to rest on an embankment.
“The driver, a man, had sustained a significant head injury. Sadly, despite best efforts of emergency service personnel nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
