Pedestrian Injured in Stafford

A man has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Stafford this afternoon.

The incident occurred in Lichfield Road just after 3pm.

An ambulance, together with a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a pedestrian had been in collision with a car.

“A man in his fifties was treated for serious head and leg injuries.

“The patient was immobilised with the use of a neck collar, splint and placed on a spinal board before being taken by land ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.”
