West Midlands Ambulance Service can confirm it was called to the junction of Umberslade Road and Pound House Lane, Solihull, at around 8.00am to reports of an RTC.
A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a motorcycle and a van that had been in a serious collision.
“The motorcyclist had suffered multiple serious injuries and received emergency treatment at the scene. The man, believed to be in his 20’s, was anaesthetised by the Doctor and was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Unit for further emergency treatment.
“The hospital had been pre alerted to the mans arrival and his serious injuries. Unfortunately the man’s injuries were considered life threatening.
“The van driver was uninjured in the crash.”
