A child has been taken to hospital following a collision between two vehicles in Sparkhill this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Stratford Road and Walford Road just before 1.30pm.
Two ambulances, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to the scene after a two car collision resulted in one of the vehicles reportedly mounting the pavement and colliding with a child.
“A six year old male was treated for a fractured leg.
“The patient was immobilised with the use of a splint, neck collar and placed on a spinal board as a precaution before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
“A mother and child travelling in one of the cars were treated at the scene and taken to the City Hospital for further assessment.
“The driver of the other car involved was assessed by ambulance staff before being released.”
