Man Airlifted from M54

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Bushbury, Wolverhampton this morning.

The incident occurred on the A449, Bushbury Road near the junction with the M54 at 8.50am.

An ambulance, together with a paramedic officer, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a pedestrian had been in collision with a lorry.

“A man in his twenties was treated for a pelvic injury.

“The patient was immobilised with the use of a splint, neck collar and placed on a spinal board. Pain relief was also administered to stabilise the patient before he was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further assessment and treatment.”
