Pedestrian Airlifted from Wollaston

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Wollaston this afternoon.

The incident occurred in Bridgnorth Road, just before 2.50pm.

An ambulance, together with two paramedics in rapid response vehicles, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “An Ambulance crew was flagged down by a member of the public after a pedestrian was in collision with a car.

“A man, believed to be in his eighties, was treated for lower back pain together with minor cuts and abrasions.

“The patient was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and placed on a spinal board before being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further assessment and treatment.”
