Incident in Drayton Bassett


Wednesday 23rd October 2013 – 12.00pm – Suzie Fothergill.

A woman has died following an incident in Staffordshire today.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a road traffic collision near to the junction of Bangley Lane and the A453 in Drayton Bassett shortly before 7.20am this morning.

An ambulance, a paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were dispatched to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle that had left the carriageway and was found in the small ditch.

“Whilst being treated at the scene, the condition of the driver rapidly deteriorated. Crews immediately commenced full resuscitation attempts on the woman. Sadly, despite best efforts of ambulance personnel nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
