A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following an RTC in Birmingham this morning.
The crash occurred at the junction of Amtpon Road and Arthur Road, Edgbaston at around 8.40am. An ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a motorcycle and a car that had been in a collision.
“The motorcyclist had suffered serious injuries, including a suspected fractured base of skull, fractured hip and jaw. The man, believed to be 37 years old, was given emergency treatment at the scene including pain relief and being fully immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar.
“Once his condition was stabilised, the man was transferred by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Unit for further emergency treatment. The hospital had been pre alerted and a trauma team were on standby.
“The woman driving the car was uninjured in the crash.”
