Car Collides with Tree

Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in West Bromwich this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Forge Lane at just after midday following reports of a car colliding with a tree.

Two ambulances; a paramedic officer, a paramedic in rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to a road traffic collision in Forge Lane.

“The female driver, believed to be in her thirties, was treated for head lacerations. She was trapped in the vehicle for about twenty minutes before being released.

“The patient was given pain relief and immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being taken by land ambulance to Sandwell General Hospital.

“A female passenger in the car was also assessed by ambulance staff before being taken to Sandwell General with minor injuries.”
