Cyclist Airlifted from Walsall

A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Walsall this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Walker Road in Bloxwich at 2.45pm.

An ambulance; a paramedic officer together with the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The ambulance service responded to a collision between a car and cyclist in Bloxwich.

“Crews treated a fifteen year old female for potentially serious head and leg injuries.

“The patient was immobilised using a neck collar and placed on a spinal board before being airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
