A middle aged man has suffered a serious burn after ending up underneath a car in Birmingham.
The incident happened in Weoley Park Road in Selly Oak at about 6.40pm on Monday evening.
An ambulance and the MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a man in his 50s trapped underneath a car in a semi-conscious state.
“With the help of firefighters, the man was extricated from under the car and taken to the ambulance where his injuries were assessed.
“The man had suffered a head injury, bruising to his abdomen, but his worst injury was a burn to his leg which had been pressed against the exhaust!
“He suffered a serious burn and was taken on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with the doctor travelling.
“The driver was uninjured.”
