Pedestrian Injured in Cannock

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Cannock this afternoon.

The incident occurred in Avon Road just before 1.50pm.

An ambulance, together with a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a pedestrian had been in collision with a car.

“A woman in her twenties was treated for facial injuries.

“The patient was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and placed on a spinal board before she was airlifted to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.

“The air ambulance landed at a nearby primary school.”
