A teenager has been airlifted to a major trauma centre after suffering a nasty leg break after slipping over in the playground.
The incident took place at Fair Oakes College in Penkridge Bank Road in Rugeley.
An ambulance, a rapid response car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire were sent to the scene after an emergency call at 1.15pm on Monday.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews found a 13 year old boy who had fallen in the wet outside.
“The aircrew were able to give him advanced pain relief so that he could have his right leg manipulated and then be put in a splint.
“He was then carried to the air ambulance, which had landed on the playing fields, before being flown to the major trauma centre at University Hospital North Staffordshire.”
