A man has escaped serious injury despite his car ending upside down in a ditch in Stafford in the early hours.
The incident happened in Dartmouth Street, Stafford, at 0.30am this morning (Friday). Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a responder paramedic, a MERIT trauma doctor and two nearby BASICS doctors attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The car had ended up in a ditch at the side of the road and was on its roof when emergency services arrived.
“The driver and single occupant, a man in his 20s, was still in the car and unable to get out. Miraculously, ambulance staff found the man had suffered no apparent injuries.
“The fire service extricated the man from the car and he was immobilised as a precaution before being taken to University Hospital North Staffordshire.”
