Three Escape M6 Crash

Three people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision on the M6 this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the M6 Junction 1 (southbound) at just after 7.30am.

One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a community paramedic attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find two HGVs in collision with a van on the southbound carriageway of the M6.

“Three men travelling in the van and believed to be in their twenties and thirties, received minor injuries. They managed to escape from the van before the vehicle caught fire.

“They were conveyed to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.

“The two lorry drivers involved in the incident were assessed at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.”
