Woman airlifted from Droitwich RTC

A woman has been airlifted to hospital following a two car collision in Droitwich this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to St Andrews Road in Droitwich shortly after 1.45pm (Thursday). Three ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a collision involving two cars.

“Two women, believed to be passengers from a stationary car, were out of the vehicle and standing next to the car when it was hit from behind by a second car.

“One of the women, thought to be in her 70s, sustained a nasty leg injury in the collision. Ambulance staff carefully applied dressings to her wound and administered pain relief before she was immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board. The woman was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency treatment.

“The second woman, believed to be in her 40s, was assessed but found to have suffered no injuries.

“No one else was injured in the collision.”
