A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car that had left the road and crashed into a road sign whilst attempting to leave the motorway for Stafford Services.
“A woman who was travelling in the car was in traumatic cardiac arrest and CPR was being carried out by Police on scene. Medics took over resuscitation attempts and advanced life support techniques were carried out.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone in attendance, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
