A total of eight patients have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Walsall this evening.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Darlaston Road just after 9.30pm.
Three ambulances, a paramedic officer in a rapid response car and the Medical Emergency Response Incident Team (MERIT) were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews responded to a two car road traffic collision this evening.
“A man believed to be in his thirties was treated for chest injuries. He was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital.
“A woman passenger in the same vehicle and believed to be in her thirties was trapped in the car for almost an hour. She was treated for pelvic injuries and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
“A family of two adults and four children travelling in the second car involved received minor injuries and were taken to Sandwell General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
