Two Trapped in Coventry Crash

Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Coventry this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Holyhead Road just after 9.30am.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews responded to a road traffic collision involving a car and taxi near the WM Morrison retail store.

“The taxi was found overturned at the scene with the driver trapped. A male driver in his forties was later released and treated for a head injury. He was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being conveyed to the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.

“A woman driver in her twenties was also trapped in her vehicle. The patient was released and treated for minor injuries before being taken to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.”
