BIker Injured in Lichfield

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision near Lichfield this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Birmingham Road, Shenstone at 11am.

Two air ambulances and three ambulances attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to a collision between a car and motorbike. The biker was found to be trapped underneath the car and had to be extricated by emergency services. .

“Crews treated a male motorcyclist, believed to be in his fifties, for serious leg and wrist injuries. The patient was immobilised with the use of a neck collar, splint and spinal board. He was also given pain relief before being conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“The driver of the car involved was treated for chest pain and taken to Good Hope Hospital for further treatment and assessment.”
