Walker rescued from Malvern Hills

A man had to be rescued today after he injured his leg whilst walking in the Malvern Hills.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and an officer in a rapid response vehicle to the scene. The fire service was also in attendance.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews were called to reports of a man who had fallen on the hillside near to St. Ann’s Road shortly after 11.55am this morning.

“The man believed to be in his 50’s was treated for a potentially fractured ankle at the scene. His leg was fully immobilised using a vacuum splint before he was conveyed to Worcester Royal hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
