An elderly woman, who was rescued from a blaze at her property by the fire service, was treated for severe smoke inhalation by two ambulance services this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a bungalow fire in Shotteswell, on the border of Oxfordshire, at 5.30am this morning (Friday). A paramedic area support officer attended the scene together with an ambulance from neighbouring South Central Ambulance Service.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “An elderly woman, believed to be in her 90s, had been rescued from the fire by the fire service.
“The woman was suffering from severe smoke inhalation and ambulance staff worked to provide her with oxygen therapy to stabilise her condition.
“The ambulance crew from South Central transported the woman to Horton General Hospital for further emergency treatment.”
