Walker Rescued from Malvern Hills

A walker has been rescued from a Malvern beauty spot after fracturing his leg near the Worcester Beacon this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the Malvern Hills at just after 11.30am.

An ambulance together with a paramedic officer in a rapid response car and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived at the Beacon following reports of a walker injuring himself near the summit.

“A man in his sixties was located at the top of the Beacon. He was treated for a fractured leg.

“The patient was assessed at the scene by ambulance staff before fire service colleagues used specialist equipment to bring the man to safety.

“The patient was eventually taken by ambulance to Worcester Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
