A young woman has died after she was involved in a collision with a car

A young woman pedestrian has died after a collision with a car on a busy road.

The crash happened at about 9.15pm on Monday evening outside Trinity Point, by the crossroads on West Street in Coventry.

Two ambulances and a paramedic area support officer were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived, they found a young woman who had been in collision with a car.

“Sadly, she had suffered very serious injuries.

“Ambulance crews battled to stabilise her condition before taking her on blue lights to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire.

“Tragically, it soon became apparent that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead shortly after arrival.

“The car driver was unhurt but badly shaken by what had happened.”
