Friday 21st August 2015 – 8.15pm – John Hawker.
A quad biker was thrown from his machine after being in collision with a car in Coventry this evening.
The incident occurred on Clifton Street at around 6.05pm. An ambulance, a paramedic officer and a BASICS Doctor attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a quad bike and a car that had been in a collision.
“The man riding the quad bike had been thrown from his machine and suffered serious leg injuries and minor facial injuries.
“The man, believed to 29 years old, received emergency treatment at the scene from medics, including pain relief and being immobilised with a spinal board and neck collar.
“After his condition was stabilised, the man was transferred by land ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.
“Considering the mechanism of the crash and the fact the man was not wearing a safety helmet, he is extremely fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.”
