Sunday 30th August 2015 – 6.30pm – Jamie Arrowsmith.
A teenager has been treated for multiple injuries and cut free from her car after it left the road, rolled and came to rest in a hedge near Ludlow this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident on the A4113 in Bromfield just before 1.30pm and sent an ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and a community paramedic to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a car in a hedge which they were told had rolled and come to rest on all four wheels after leaving the road. It is not believed any other vehicles were involved.
“The driver, a 19-year-old female, was the sole occupant in the car and was trapped inside the vehicle as a result of the incident.
“Following an initial assessment, ambulance crews worked alongside the fire service to free her from the car, a process which involved cutting the roof off the vehicle and took approximately 45 minutes.
“She was treated for injuries to her arm, neck and back and immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board.
“She was also given pain relief before being transported to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment.”
