A motorcyclist received advanced trauma care at the roadside before being airlifted to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in Telford this afternoon.
The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M54 near to junction 7, Cluddley, Telford at around 5.20pm (Sunday). An ambulance, a responder paramedic, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic on board were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When the emergency services arrived they found a motorcyclist, a man, who had been knocked off his bike following a collision with a car. Ambulance staff already on scene were quickly joined by the trauma doctor and critical care paramedic from the helicopter. The aircraft briefly landed just off the motorway to drop off the crew before relocating to nearby Princess Royal Hospital.
“The man was unconscious and had sustained multiple injuries including a head injury. The team of medics worked together to provide trauma care to the man on the M54. Due to his critical condition, the doctor sedated the motorcyclist to help manage his airway. The man was fully immobilised before being transferred by land ambulance on blue lights to Princess Royal Hospital to meet up with the helicopter.
“The air crew, who had travelled in the land ambulance to continue treatment, transferred the man to the aircraft before he was flown to Royal Stoke University Hospital, a major trauma centre, for further emergency care.
“The motorway remains closed between junctions 7 and 6 eastbound.”

it’s me, Carmen Budrat, two years after the above reported accident, again.
I’ve been told, only 1 out of 1000 human are able to survive such heavy brain injuries as my hubby had. He survived.
Today he is not only walking on its own, able to do all daily staff himself, he is also working at the same company, now in Germany. Of course he will stay brain disabled all his life… He is a different person now, because of his major brain damages through the terrible accident…
But: It will be Christmas soon again and he is still with us.
So I wish all of you amazing people , which are involved to rescue his life, a very Merry Christmas.
