A man whose heart stopped beating at the scene of a road traffic collision in Walsall couldn’t be saved despite the best efforts of a team of six ambulance staff.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 4.00pm reporting a collision involving a car and a fence in Willenhall Lane, Bloxwich, Walsall (Tuesday). As well as an ambulance, an ambulance crew and a senior paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived they discovered the driver of the car, a man, was in cardiac arrest.
“Working as a team ambulance staff and the medic commenced advanced life support in an attempt to save the man.
“Sadly, after around 30 minutes of intense resuscitation efforts, the team couldn’t restart his heart and the man was confirmed dead on scene.”
