A man has been treated at the scene of a fire by medics overnight in Worcestershire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Burford Road, Bengeworth, Evesham at around 2.50am.  A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trusts Hazardous Area Response Team attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a residential property that was on fire.

“A man who was in the property when the fire started was treated by ambulance medics for the effects of smoke inhalation.

“Following treatment the man was transferred by ambulance to The Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.

“No other person was injured in the incident.”
