Man dies in early morning RTC

A man has died following an RTC in Wolverhampton in the early hours of this morning.

The crash occurred on the A449, Coven, near junction 2 of the M54 at around 4.40am. A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to a car that had been in a serious collision with a HGV that was parked in a layby.

“The man driving the car had suffered multiple serious injuries, and sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“No other person was injured in the crash.”
