A van driver has died after a crash that saw him ejected from the vehicle.
When emergency crews arrived at Wiltshire Way in West Bromwich, he was trapped under the long wheel base panel van.
Firefighters worked with ambulance staff to free the man which allowed ambulance staff to start resuscitation.
The man received advanced life support at the scene before being taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. He had suffered multiple injuries.
Sadly, his condition was very serious and he died overnight.
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic officer, the MERIT trauma doctor and a paramedic from the Hazardous Area Response Team were sent to the scene after a number of 999 calls at 10.50pm on Monday evening.
