Motorcyclist and passenger thrown 25m over car

A motorcyclist and his passenger landed 25-metres away from their bike after being thrown up and over a car tonight.

The rider, a man in his 20s, was found to be in an extremely serious condition and was anaesthetised on scene as a result of suffering multiple injuries.

The incident took place near to Arden Hill Farm on Birmingham Road in Pathlow, Stratford, at 8.25pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The man was treated for injuries to his head, chest, abdomen, pelvis and neck. The doctor took the decision to anaesthetise him in attempt to stabilise his condition.

“He was then transported to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire but unfortunately his injuries are thought to be extremely serious.

“His passenger, a woman in her 20s, was fully conscious when crews arrived, undoubtedly helped by the fact she was wearing a helmet. It appears the helmet had taken a huge impact in the crash as it had a very large crack, saving her from a serious head injury.

“She was treated for injuries to her right arm and right shoulder, immobilised and given pain relief before being taken to the same hospital.

“From the the car, which had sufferd damage to its side, the driver – a woman in her 20s, was treated for minor bruising and the effects of shock before being discharged on scene.”

Attending the scene were two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a community paramedic and a MERIT trauma doctor.
