Fatal road traffic collision in Birmingham

A boy has died after the car he was in hit a tree in Birmingham.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Stechford Road in the Hodge Hill area of the city shortly after 11.05pm yesterday (Friday).

A paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance crews and the MERIT (Medical Emergency Response Incident Team) trauma team consisting of a trauma doctor and a critical care practitioner attended.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews performed advanced life support techniques on the boy but despite those best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
