Pedestrian dies in RTC

A pedestrian has died following an RTC on the outskirts of Birmingham last night.

The incident occurred on the Hagley Road West, Quinton at around 8.20pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a pedestrian in traumatic cardiac arrest after being in collision with a car.

“An off duty paramedic and doctor were carrying out CPR on the man and ambulance medics continued resuscitation attempts using advanced life support techniques.

“Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“No other person was injured in the incident.

“A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trusts MERIT team attended the incident.”
