Thursday 10th March 2016 – 4.50pm – Claire Brown.

A motorcyclist needed advanced trauma care after being involved in a collision with a car this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Stallings Lane and Charterfield Drive, Kingswinford at around 1.30pm (Thursday). An ambulance, a community paramedic and a critical care paramedic from the West Midlands Central Accident Resuscitation Emergency (CARE) Team attended.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, had ended up coming to rest approximately 20 feet further down the road from where the collision happened.

“Upon assessment he was found to have sustained a nasty lower leg injury. The ambulance team worked together to administer pain relief to the man to help manage his discomfort before carefully bandaging the wounds. The man was immobilised before being taken by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, a major trauma centre, for further assessment and treatment.

“No one else required hospital treatment.”
