A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The rider of the moped, a man believed to be in his 60s, was lying on the road, near to a roundabout, when crews arrived.
“The man, who remained conscious throughout, had suffered serious injuries including a suspected fractured pelvis.
“He was assessed and treated and scene, given pain relief and immobilised before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by land ambulance. The doctor from the air ambulance travelled with the patient to continue treatment en-route.
