West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Fosse Way, in Moreton Morrell, Warwick, shortly after 9.15am and sent two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews were told that the car had collided with a tree after leaving the road.

“The driver, a woman, was found to have suffered extremely serious injuries.
