Four men needed treatment by ambulance staff last night after a collision involving a taxi and a car in Walsall.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received several 999 calls to reports of an RTC on the Walsall Road in Great Wyrley at 7.00pm (Thursday). Three ambulances, a MERIT trauma doctor and a paramedic area support officer attended the scene together with the police and fire service.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The taxi driver, a man in his 30s, suffered neck and back pain in the collision. Ambulance staff immobilised him with a neck collar and spinal board before he was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital. Two passengers in the taxi were also injured. A 66-year-old man sustained serious facial injuries and, following on scene treatment by the medic, he was taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The second passenger, a man in his 70s, had a minor head injury which required further treatment at Walsall Manor Hospital.
