Woman airlifted after kick from horse

A woman has received trauma care by ambulance staff after being kicked by a horse in Worcestershire this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Wolverley at around 1.30pm (Monday). An ambulance, a community paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The 27-year-old woman sustained severe pain in her hip and leg. She was given advanced analgesia and trauma care on scene to help stabilise her condition. Once immobilised with the use of a neck collar, spinal board and pelvic splint, the woman was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
