A health clinic in Solihull is the latest location to house a defibrillator to help save lives.
Brandwood Clinic in Monkspath is a European centre for scalp micropigmentation and health checks and has recently installed a defibrillator to provide life-saving care to customers and their local community in an emergency.
Andy Jeynes, the Trust’s Community Response Manager for Birmingham and the Black Country, trained several staff in the use of the defibrillator and basic first aid and officially handed over the device in June. On Monday 25th July, Andy is holding a further training session for members of the local community. Andy said: “I’m happy to support this initiative as the more defibrillators we have in local communities like Monkspath the better as, in turn, there’s more chance of lives being saved.”
Brandwood Clinic’s co-owner David Andrews said: “It has become widely known that there was a requirement for a publicly accessible defibrillator and since we’re open six-days-a-week we’re happy to be able to meet that need with the assistance of West Midlands Ambulance Service.
“We play a fundamental role in promoting good health in Solihull and it seems appropriate that we would be a focal point for this valuable, life-saving asset. Naturally we hope never to have to use it as our focus is on diagnosis and prevention, but we’re delighted to be able to offer this service to the local community.”
