Crash leaves camper van against the side of a house

A two car crash at a junction led to a camper van striking the wall of a house.

It happened at about 7.05pm on Tuesday night outside The Green Man Public House on the A523 at Ipstones in Staffordshire

A rapid response vehicle, two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a BASICS Emergency Doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found a blue car with significant front end damage.  A white and orange campervan had left the road and come to rest against the side of a house; there was also debris in the road.

“There were four patients in total; the two more serious were from the camper van.

“The front seat passenger, a woman in her 30s was initially reported to be semi-conscious, but came round as ambulance staff treated her.  She was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital with a possible head injury.

“The driver, a man was taken to the same hospital with neck and abdominal pain.  Both were immobilised before being taken to hospital.

“The two people in the car were also taken to the same hospital as a precaution but had only minor injuries.”
