Five people required treatment from ambulance staff and transporting to hospital following a two-car RTC last night (Sunday).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Belgrave Middleway in Birmingham at 9.32pm and sent five ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Mental Health Triage Car, which was on scene in less than two minutes, to the incident.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews found two cars that had been in collision.
“There were five patients in total, one of whom, a woman, was trapped inside one of the cars. She was cut out with assistance from the fire service, with ambulance staff carefully monitoring her throughout that process.
“She was treated for potentially serious injuries before being transported to Heartlands Hospital. A teenage male travelled on the same ambulance having received treatment for injuries not believed to be serious.
“A man, who was driving one of the cars, was treated for minor injuries and taken to City Hospital for further assessment.
“A girl and a second teenager were both taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital but thankfully their injuries were not thought to be serious.”
