Pedestrian dies in West Bromwich RTC

Despite the best efforts of bystanders and ambulance staff, a pedestrian was sadly confirmed dead at the scene of a collision last night in West Bromwich.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at the junction of the A4041 Newton Road and Wigmore Lane, West Bromwich, at 9.23pm yesterday (Thursday) Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma team were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival ambulance staff found off duty nurses performing CPR on a pedestrian, a man, who had reportedly been involved in a collision with a car. Ambulance staff took over resuscitation efforts, administering advanced life support, but sadly nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead on scene a short time later.”
