Pedestrian fatally injured in RTC

A man has died after a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 3.44am to reports of a man who had collided with a bus at the junction of Chester Road and Birmingham Road in Bickenhill. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, we discovered one patient, the pedestrian, who was in a critical condition. He was already receiving CPR from police colleagues on scene.

“Ambulance staff took over and quickly began administering advanced life support. However, sadly, depsite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Fatal Worcestershire RTC

A man has sadly died after a collision involving a car and road sweeper in Worcestershire last night.

West Midlands Ambulance was called at 5:50pm to the RTC on Broadway Road in the Hinton Cross area of Evesham. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived at the scene of the collision to find the driver of the car, a man, in a critical condition with bystander CPR already being carried out by an off-duty paramedic who came across the incident, with assistance from police.

“Staff took over in the patient’s treatment and administered advanced trauma care at the scene. However sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene.”

Motorcyclist fatally injured in Birmingham collision

One person has died following a collision between a motorbike and a stationary car in Birmingham last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 9.15pm to reports that a motorbike and a stationary car had collided on Coventry Road, Sheldon and sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, we found one patient, the motorcyclist, in a critical condition.

“Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care on scene but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing more could be done to save him and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries.”

Motorcyclist seriously injured in Hagley collision

Two people have been taken to hospital following a collision involving a car and a motorbike this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 8.23am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike at the junction of the A456 and Broome Lane in Hagley and sent two ambulances, one paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford and a BASICS doctor to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, we found two patients.

“The motorcyclist, a man, was found to have suffered serious injuries. He received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham by land ambulance for further treatment. The air ambulance crew travelled with the patient to help continue treatment en route to hospital.

“The car driver, a woman, was assessed and had sustained minor injuries, she was conveyed to Alexandra Hospital via land ambulance.”

One to hospital after van and lorry collide

One man has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision between a van and a stationary lorry this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 5.10am to the A46, between Junction 2 and 3 in Leek Wootton, Warwick and sent one ambulance, two paramedic officers and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, we found one patient, the driver of the van, he had sustained serious injuries.

“He was trapped in his vehicle for approximately 40 minutes and had to be cut free with assistance from fire service colleagues.

“He was assessed and received advanced trauma care at the scene and was conveyed to University Hospital Coventry for further treatment.”

Woman seriously injured on M42

Five patients, including a seriously injured woman, have been treated and taken to hospital following a two-car collision on the M42 this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the northbound carriageway, near to junction 7, at 1.53pm and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered two cars that had been in collision, and a total of five patients.

“The driver of one of the cars, a woman, had suffered serious injuries in the incident. She received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham by land ambulance.

“There were four patients from the second car, which had overturned in the collision.

“A man, a woman and two children were all treated for injuries not believed to be serious before all being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire on the same land ambulance.”

Man seriously injured as motorbike and taxi collide

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a collision with a taxi this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Steward Street and Spring Hill in Hockley, Birmingham at 7am and sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived at the scene to discover two patients, both men.

“The motorcyclist received treatment for serious injuries at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham on blue lights and sirens.

“The driver of the taxi, a man, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Sandwell Hospital.”

A man has died following a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and several other vehicles this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 7.23am to the junction of Bromsgrove Highway and Birchfield Road in Redditch. Three ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered the motorcyclist, a man, in a critical condition. He was already receiving treatment from a Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance doctor who had stopped to assist whilst driving near to the incident.

“The man received advanced life support at the scene but sadly it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased.

“A second patient, a woman, was treated for the effects of shock and taken to the Alexandra Hospital for further assessment.”

West Mercia Police are appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident to contact them via their website, quoting reference number 00382i of 18th August 2021.

HGV and car collision

Two men and a woman have been conveyed to hospital after an RTC involving a car and HGV in Shropshire this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 6:55am to the collision on the A488 at Hanwood Bank, Shrewsbury. We sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived at the scene of the collision to find three patients involved; the driver of the HGV and the driver and passenger of the car.

“The driver of the car, a man, was treated for potentially serious injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance for further treatment.

“The passenger in the car, a woman, and the driver of the HGV, a man, were both treated for injuries not believed to be serious and were conveyed to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in separate ambulances for further treatment.”

Serious RTC involving pedestrian and vehicle

A pedestrian has sadly died after being involved in a collision with a vehicle overnight.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 5:45pm on Sunday to reports of an RTC on Redditch Road in Alvechurch. Multiple resources were dispatched to the scene, including two ambulances, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived at the scene on Redditch Road to find a man, the pedestrian, in a critical condition. Staff administered advanced trauma care to the man at the scene, but sadly despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased on scene.”

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses or those with any CCTV or dash cam footage from the area to call 101, quoting incident number 00555_I_15082021.

Pedestrian seriously injured in Wolverhampton collision

A pedestrian has been seriously injured following a collision with a trailer in Wolverhampton this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called at 1.46pm following a collision involving a pedestrian and a trailer, being towed by a vehicle, on Newhampton Road East in Wolverhampton

Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic on board attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found the pedestrian, a man, with serious injuries.

“He received advanced trauma care on scene and was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham via land ambulance on blue lights and sirens for further emergency treatment.”

One to hospital following bus collision

A woman has been seriously injured following a collision involving a bus in Walsall today.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 1.12pm to reports of a bus that had collided with a bus shelter in Bradford Place, Walsall. Two ambulances, two paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a bus which had collided with a bus shelter. One woman, who was inside the bus shelter at the time of the collision, was seriously injured and received advanced trauma care at the scene by ambulance staff before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further treatment.

“A second pedestrian, a woman, was assessed for minor injuries and discharged at the scene with self care advice.

“A further three patients, the bus driver and two passengers, were assessed by ambulance staff and discharged at the scene.”

Two to hospital following property fire

Two women have been taken to hospital following a property fire in Stoke on Trent last night. 

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 10.28pm yesterday (Thursday) to reports of a fire at a property in Hope Street, Hanley, Stoke on Trent. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and two North Staffordshire BASICS doctors attended the scene. 

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find two occupants, two women, who had managed to get out of the property. 

“Upon assessment, one woman was found to be in a serious condition. She received emergency treatment on scene before being rapidly conveyed on blue lights to Royal Stoke University Hospital. The woman was later transferred by WMAS to a specialist burns unit in the region.

“The second woman, who was in a less serious condition, was given treatment on scene before being taken on blue lights to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further care.”

Girl seriously injured in Birmingham RTC

A young girl has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Birmingham this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received several 999 calls at around 3.15pm reporting a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry on Nechells Park Road, Birmingham. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance staff arrived on scene to find the pedestrian, a young girl, being cared for by bystanders following a collision with a lorry.

“The team of ambulance staff worked together to administer trauma care to the girl on scene before conveying her by land ambulance on blue lights to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further specialist treatment.”

Fatal house fire in Tipton

A man has died and a woman has been taken to hospital following a house fire in the Black Country last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called by the police to Tame Road in Tipton at 8.12pm last night (Tuesday). Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, HART paramedics and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene along with police and fire colleagues.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews found two occupants who had been rescued from the property by fire colleagues and were being given CPR.

“One occupant, a man, was in a critical condition. The team of ambulance staff immediately commenced advanced life support on scene but sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services team, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later.

“The second occupant, a woman, received advanced treatment by ambulance staff who were able to stabilise her condition before she was conveyed on blue lights to Russells Hall Hospital for further emergency care.”
