Motorcyclist dies in Birmingham

A man has sadly died following a road traffic collision in Birmingham this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received multiple calls reporting a collision involving a car and a motorcyclist on Pershore Road, Erdington at around 9.50am today (Thursday). Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic responded to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived, they found police colleagues performing CPR on a motorcyclist. The man was in a critical condition and the team of ambulance staff worked quickly to commence advanced life support at the roadside. Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead on scene.

“The driver of the car, a woman, was assessed by ambulance staff before being discharged on scene.”
