Teenager airlifted to hospital in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A teenager has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the RTC involving a van and a pedestrian off Red Lion Square in Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme at 8.14am and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a pedestrian and a van had been involved in a collision.

“The pedestrian, a teenage girl, was treated for serious injuries before being taken by air ambulance to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

“There were no other injuries.”
