A woman, man and girl have been taken to hospital by ambulance following a serious RTC in Birmingham last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the A34 Perry Barr Expressway underpass near Birchfield Road, Aston at 8.29pm yesterday (Sunday 5th January) to reports of a two-car collision. Three ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care paramedic responded to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When emergency services arrived, they found two cars which had been involved in a head on collision.
“The driver of one car, a woman, was assessed by ambulance staff who administered trauma care to her serious injuries. She was conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further emergency treatment.
“A girl, a passenger from the same car, also sustained serious injuries. She too received trauma care by the team before she was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for specialist care.
“The driver of the second car, a man, suffered less serious injuries but required further treatment at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.”
