Presenting some of the awards Janet Bell Smith, the High Sheriff of Warwickshire, said:
“We all know that the financial contribution made by the NHS to the operation of the West Midlands Ambulance Service is obviously vital and enormous, but it is the extra support provided by people like those receiving awards today that gives the icing on the cake. I’d like to personally take this opportunity to thank everybody and also on behalf of the people of the West Midlands to thank you all, all the volunteers for everything you have done. You should be hugely proud of what you achieve. ”
