Compliments, Commendations and Comments

thanks-motherEnsuring we provide a high-quality service for patients is the number one priority for the Trust.

Judging by the letters, emails, tweets and Facebook messages we receive, we know that many people are really grateful to the staff that come out to help them in their hour of need.

Equally, it may relate to someone helping you over a longer period of time, for example, taking some for renal dialysis over many months. At such a difficult time, a friendly face can make all the difference.

If you would like to pass on a message to the staff that helped you, we would be delighted to help you.  Our staff really appreciate it.

To make it easier for us to identify the individuals, it is really helpful if you are able to provide some or all of the following:

  • Your name and contact details
  • Names of the staff involved (if known)
  • Date, time and location of the incident even if it is only approximate
  • Any other details that you think might be helpful

Please either use our contact form or send the information to our postal address, or email us, or call us. the contact details are below. Alternatively, you can send us a message via our social media, Twitter or Facebook – search for ‘officialWMAS’.

Here are a few of your comments:

I am sending you this email after having to call upon your service on 25th February to our premises. We called 999 for one of our colleagues who had severed his arm in a piece of machinery. As a first-aideI administered first aid and applied direct pressure to the remaining limb. Your crew reached us promptly within minutes, also the air ambulance was called upon and also reached us very quickly. I would like to thank all the crews who attended. The service that was provided was first class, prompt and much appreciated. My colleague was taken to the QE who has had surgery on his arm to re-attach the limb. It’s early days but we’re hoping he can make a good recovery.

On 21st February a medic was sent to my home by 111 service, followed by an ambulance about an hour later. I would like to express my gratitude to the gentlemen that came out, I truly appreciate everything they did for me. They made me feel relaxed and at ease and were a welcome distraction from the situation. They took the time to listen to what I had to say and assess my situation which is a condition that has been going on for months now. I was treated with respect and care. I did not feel that I deserved an ambulance as I was not having anything I deemed serious but I felt care for. I have seen many doctors and nurses for diagnosis with my condition and for my operation I paid a private surgeon but the care I received from the ambulance crew was by far the best. I am so grateful.

I am writing to thank the paramedics who attended my mum on 11th February after she showed symptoms of a stroke. This was the first time I had ever rung for an ambulance. They were with us within 20 minutes and the way in which they dealt with my mum was super, she was kept calm throughout, they were very patient with her and the whole experience was traumatic free! I felt fully informed throughout. It is all too common to hear from people when things go wrong so I want to thank them for being so good and I really appreciate the way they were with us. Fortunately, my mum seems fine after having her mini stroke.

I am writing to say a heartfelt thank you for your help and assistance that you and your patient transport driver gave me recently. I was collected from the QE and on getting into the vehicle he said he had 4 more people to pick up. I was shocked because I had assumed you would have been made aware of my medical condition and obviously you hadn’t been. I informed your driver that I had shingles and should not travel with anyone who had immune problems or health issues and the other 4 patients were on kidney dialysis. I was in a lot of pain and the driver contacted you and you very kindly allowed him to take me home straight away. I cannot express how grateful I was to you both and how you went above and beyond the norm.
