On 14th April 2024, Louise was with her mum, Denise, when the baby began to make a surprise appearance.
Four ambulances and a BASICS doctor were sent to the address where Denise had successfully delivered the child and had begun CPR as he was in a critical condition.
Ambulance crews immediately administered advanced life-saving support and, after he finally took his first breath, both mum and baby were taken to hospital.
Now, celebrating being over 100 days old, some of the staff have been reunited with Louise, Denise and, of course, baby Lincoln.
Louise said: ‘I would like to thank you all for the fast response on 14th April.
“My mum delivered him and started CPR, and you took over and blue lighted us safely to hospital. We can’t thank you enough and were very much in shock.
“You saved our little boy and we will forever be grateful to you all.”
Incredibly, Lincoln weighed just 2lb 4oz at birth but is now doing well and weighs 7lb 13oz.
One of the crew who attended, Stoke Technician Poppy, said: “As a team, it was an absolute honour to be invited back to see Lincoln and his family, who we met during the most difficult time in their life.
“At the time of the incident, we had to push emotion away and worked as a tight knit team to try and get a positive outcome even though the odds were stacked against us.”
Stoke Paramedic, Colleen, added: “Meeting the family again and hearing how well Lincoln is doing was a very emotional day, and we were privileged to be able to take the time to hear how grateful they are and the difference Lincoln has made to their lives.
“This job is one which will stay with us forever, and has brought us close as team, teaching us to never lose hope.”
